The Wilderness Center Nature Photo Club
21st Annual Foto Fest
The 2014 Foto Fest will be held at the Wilderness Center on Saturday, April 12 and Sunday, April 13, 2014. The exhibition will be for prints only. The Foto Fest's goal is to showcase outstanding nature photography for the general public's enjoyment.
Who can enter? Anyone of any age may enter.
Who is judging? The general public will review the exhibit and will do the judging through ballots given out at the door from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM Saturday, and 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM on Sunday
What are the Awards? Certificates and ribbons will be awarded in each category (monetary for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd). First place winners will be displayed at The Wilderness Center for a month and may be picked up after June 10th, 2014
Categories are as follows.
Categories with no man-made objects:
General Nature
Landscapes
Wildflowers
Wildlife - no captive animals
Categories that may include man-made objects:
Animals (domestic or captive)
Birds (wild or domestic)
Domestic Flowers
Insects & Spiders
Pictorial (scenic)
Anything Goes
Youth Category (younger than 17): The subjects of the photos can be from any of the above categories. Mark "Youth" for category on entry form.

Winners will be announced and awards will be given out at the Nature Photo Club meeting, Saturday, May 3 at 9:30 AM. All entrants are invited to attend this meeting. All prints, except first place winners, may be picked up at this time or at The Wilderness Center the week following the awards meeting. Prints will be returned by mail only if a self-addressed mailer with proper postage is provided.

How to enter your prints
Entries will be accepted up to 4:30 PM on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at The Wilderness Center.
Prints received after the deadline, whether by mail or in person, may not be entered in the FOTO FEST.
Bring prints, entry form and payment to the Wilderness Center between 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM on April 5.
Fees per photo: Adults - $4.00 and Youth - $2.00.
Make checks out to: TWC Nature Photo Club
Note: Package the prints, entry form and payment for safe and easy handling.

RULES:
Note: Minor alterations of a single image (e.g. 'red eye', cropping, levels, sharpening, creating mono-ccolor print, dodge/burn, etc.) via computer hardware/software are acceptable for all categories.
Category Definitions:
Note: Man-made means anything artificial that appears in the photograph that has been made by people, e.g. a bridge, road, house, automobile, fence, etc.
Animals ( Domestic or Captive:
Animals in a zoo (including normally wild animals that are on display on ranches or at 'The Wilds' or similar facilities), farm animals or house pets. (Man-made allowed)
Birds:
Any photo that contains a domestic or wild bird or birds. (Man-made allowed)
Domestic Flowers:
Any flower or plant that has been cultivated. This includes any flower or plant normally found in the wild that has been replanted or refined. (Man-made allowed)
Insects & Spiders:
Beetle, Bugs, Spiders, Caterpillers, Moths, Butterflies. (Man-made allowed)
Pictorial (Scenic):
A scenic view of the Natural World. Man-made allowed)
Anything Goes;
Photos with major manipulation, e.g. merging different photos, multiple images of the same photo. (Man-made allowed)
General Nature:
Photos of nature that DO NOT FIT into the other 'No man-made' categories. (No man-made allowed)
Landscapes:
A scenic view of the Natural World. (No man-made allowed)
Wildflowers:
Flowers found in the wild. If the plant or flower has been cultivated, it must be entered in another category. (No man-made allowed)
Wildlife:
Animals, other than birds, encountered in the wild. Must not be a sild animal in captivity. (No man-made allowed)
Youth Category:
This a separate category for those under the age of 17. The photos may be of anything from the above categories. They wil be judged separately and not in the other individual categories. This is a TOTAL CATEGORY and will include ONE set of awards. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Honorable Mention. (Man-made allowed)

RULES:
- Neatly print name, address, phone number, title of print and category entered on the entry form.
- On the back of the photograph, put the name and address of the entrant and photograph TITLE. Untitled prints will not be accepted
- Adult Fee is $4.00 per photo, no limit. $2.00 for Youth Category, no limit.
- All prints must be mounted on matting board. Be sure that tape holds well.
- No framed prints will be excepted.
- The smallest image permitted is 80 square inches of print (excluding matting), e.g. 8x10 inches.
- The largest print permitted 16" by 20" (including matting)
- No names may appear on front of print.
- First Place winners will be displayed at The Wilderness Center for a month following the award presentation.
- The Foto Fest Committee Reserves the right to reclassify or reject any entry.
- Neither The Nature Photo Club nor The Wilderness Center is responsible for any damage to material submitted.
- Entries that have not been picked up by July 1, 2014 will NOT be the responsibility of The Wilderness Center or the TWC Nature Photo Club.]
