Don Holycross Bio: A native Ohioan, Don grew up in Logan County (Bellefontaine area) in west central Ohio. He holds a Bachelor's Degree from Muskingum College with a major in political science and a Master's Degree from The Ohio State University in Public Administration. He worked twenty-two years as a Village or Town Manager in Ohio, Virginia, and North Carolina. He is now retired from city management and currently lives in Logan (Hocking County) in southeastern Ohio.
Don seriously started photographing about ten years ago. He specializes in photographing the beautiful Hocking Hills but also enjoys photographing other landscape scenes, nightscapes (Milky Way and moon), sunsets, waterfalls, and macro (flower) images.
Most of Don's landscape photographs are high dynamic range (HDR), using up to seven exposures, primarily to extract and preserve details in the shadows and the highlights. The multiple exposures are blended and then processed. Don's presentation will cover that process and show comparisons with single-exposure images and images that are not post-processed. He will also cover specific techniques used for his waterfall images, Milky Way, moon, sunset, fireworks, and flower photography.

Don's photographs are viewable at: HockingHillsPhotography.com or on Facebook @HockingHillsPhotography.
