Program: Photographing Wild Orchids
Presenter: David Longfellow
My father gave me my first camera when I was a boy, and I've been interested in photography ever since. My interest in photographing wildflowers began when I lived in Texas, and I admired the spring flowers in the Hill Country around Austin. Now I have images of nearly 900 species of wildflowers in my Lightroom catalog. I'm always on the lookout for a flower that I haven't yet photographed. In addition to nature and landscape photography, I've become increasingly involved in other types of photography, from events to portraits to architecture. I read a good bit about the history of photography, especially mid-20th-century masters of B&W images.

What is a Pecha Kucha Talk
A Pecha Kucha presentation has a theme and is in a format that uses 20 slides or images that are displayed for 20 seconds each. The slides will move automatically as the presenter is speaking. That keeps a total presentation to just 6 minutes and 40 seconds. The special challenge is synchronizing the two components. This format ensures that the speaker is concise, keeps the presentation moving and get through all of their content.
