Time: 9:30 AM
Program: Tips on Wildlife Photography with Wildlife Photographer Charles Marsh
"When photographing wildlife, I focus on freezing the briefest of moments. I like to capture motion, the momentary eye contact with an animal or bird, the light in an eye, the transient light at dawn and dusk, and moments that are too fast to be easily seen by the naked eye. The more I photograph and observe wildlife the more I am convinced both birds and animals have emotions and feelings. I strive to capture these moments by taking people closer to see better the detail, color and spirit of a wild creature. All these aspects help to illustrate the beauty and might of nature and provide a lasting impression that I hope enthuses and excites the onlooker."

Program: Night Sky Photography - Creating Dazzling Star Trails Images
Capturing the apparent movement of billions of stars as the Earth rotates can give you surreal and compelling images. Debbie DiCarlo has spent countless hours doing just that and will show many of her images while recounting trials and tribulations, settings and useful apps.
Presenter: Debbie DeCarlo
Debbie DiCarlo is an Ohio-based photographer who began her artistic journey in the 1960’s with a Kodak Instamatic film cartridge camera. Today, with a Digital SLR in hand, she travels near and far, drawn by the awe-inspiring natural beauty of the world.
One of Debbie’s photos of a waterfall in the Chagrin River won the 2013 Popular Photography Magazine’s Annual Readers Photo Contest – chosen from thousands of entries from around the world. It was featured as a full-page spread in the February 2014 magazine.
The Howling Lesson, a photo of an adult and two coyote pups howling, garnered global attention and has been blogged about and featured in online stories including the Huffington Post, GrindTV.com, MSNnow.com, DailyMail.co.uk and more.
Debbie launched Focus on Photography Tours two-years ago and co-leads workshops for photographers of all levels to scenic and interesting spots in the US and Canada. While she enjoys all genres of photography, Debbie specializes in macro, landscape/waterscape and night sky.

June 26, 2021
Time: 9:30 AM
Program: Photographing the Wildlife of Ohio
Paul will be presenting some of his best wildlife images, and will discuss how they were made, including how to deal with different light, subject orientation to its surroundings, and weather conditions. Pual will also discuss the camera and lenses he uses, and factors involved in choosing among the many digital photographic equipment options available today.
Presenter: Paul Swarmer
Paul Swarmer’s passion for nature and everything wild began about 6 years of age, When he first learned to climb over the back fence of my family’s property, much to his parent’s exasperation. His father was always a photographer, both professional and amateur. When Paul was still quite young, his father told him that he should be photographing the places, animals, plants, and other interesting things that I found on my “adventures”.
Paul’s father gave him one of his older cameras, a Pentax Spotmatic with 50mm and 200mm lenses, and four rolls of film. Paul’s love of photography and art began. With study, practice, Paul’s photographic imaging greatly improved. Convinced by many that my work was of a quality that I should exhibit and sell my photography at juried art shows. For several years, I exhibited at juried art shows with some success.
Over time, Paul realized that the commercial side of the art business had taken over his activities and he was more engaged in making and selling a product than making art. Because of these experiences, photography was no longer fun and for several years, he stepped away from photography, and just went about the joy and therapy the outdoors had always given me.
With research and advice from friends, Paul acquired a good digital camera with telephoto lens and learned how to use it. Following his retirement in 2000, he returned with renewed passion and enthusiasm to his first love, wildlife photography.

Program: 2022 Nature Photo Club Calendar submissions and selection
In preparation of submitting images to be considered for our 2022 TWC NPC Calendar, the following guidelines must be followed.
Enter up to 4 photos in each category: Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, or Cover.
All photos must be in a horizontal/Landscape format.
Reminder: the cover photo must be one taken at a Wilderness Center property.
These image files must be large enough to print an 8x10 or equivalent size photo and should be at least 240 dpi.
I would think the file size should be at least 2 or 3 megabytes (MB)
If you see the size of the file is measured as kilobytes (ex: 800 kbs), it is probably too small to print a quality calendar size photo.
All submissions must be sent to Bryan Leaman at [email protected] or add your photos to his Dropbox account via this link: https://www.dropbox.com/request/4WhBT6r9s1b3ng6iAQYv (the upload form will require your name & email address, so he will know who submitted each one). Feel free to upload full-size images; he will resize them for the selection process. NOTE: If you are sending your image files to Bryan by email, you will probably have to send maybe 3 at a time for them to be sent. I would suggest grouping and sending them by season. If you are using his dropbox, you should be able to submit them all together but it might take some time for them to upload depending on your internet speed.
Bryan will return an email to each person with a screenshot of image thumbnails to confirm that he has everything he should. If you do NOT receive a reply from Bryan within 3 days of your submission, please call him at 330-453-015
Important: Bryan would appreciate if the file names started with the season they are for: Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall, or Cover.
Dropbox will add the person’s name to the beginning and emailed photos will tell him who they're from, so the file names do not need the club member's name in them.
NOTE: Bryan would like all submissions by midnight, Wednesday, Sept. 23. Exceptions can be arranged by emailing or calling him (330-453-0150) or enlist the aid of another club member. If sending via computer is an issue for you, call and we can work something out.
Submissions will not be excepted on the day of the meeting! If you bring them in on the meeting day, you will be asked to submit them next year!
NOTE: Only members are eligible for submitting photos.
