Time: 9:30 a.m.
Where: Buckeye Room
Program: Seeing Simply, Simply Seeing
This video program was originally part of a series, Awakened By Beauty, produced during the pandemic in 2020. It is being provided with Rikki Cooke's permission. In it, he discusses the evolution of his craft over the course of his career, shares a variety of photos and stories, and writing from his many journals.
Richard “Rikki” Cooke has worked as a professional photographer for more than 40 years, many of them as a freelancer for The National Geographic Society. He had a variety of assignments around the world, including two books: America’s Ancient Cities and The Blue Ridge Range, in addition to other work featured in National Geographic publications.
Cooke grew up in Hawaii, and living in Molokai was a major influence in his life. He and his wife, Bronwyn, turned Cooke family land into the Hui Ho’olana - a living sanctuary dedicated to conservation and education. They offered a variety of photographic workshops over the last thirty years.
